ABOUT ME

My name is Javier "JJ" Valentin and I'm a Cinematographer, editor, and videographer from Sparta, NJ. I graduated from DeSales University in the Spring of 2024 and now work with sports media and professional films in the New York, Metropolitan area. I started creating videos my freshman year of high school on the morning announcements, also known as the Sparta Scoop. There I was tasked with making quick intros and small segments that would be uploaded for Sparta High School to see and get all the information they needed about what's going on around the school. On the side I made highlight videos and uploaded them to my YouTube channel for fun and to help practice with editing. ​I started Lax Hound Productions, formerly Valentin Productions, because I found a passion for creating videos and film. Being able to create something that people can genuinely enjoy is the main reason why I started creating back in high school. I strive to make my clients vision a reality and want to give them something they can be proud of and show off to whoever like. ​I've been creating videos since 2016 and have experience using iMovie, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Adobe After Effects, and Adobe Premiere Pro. I specialize in video editing, directing, and cinematography and I have experience with sound design. My main camera is a Sony A7III, I have experience using Canon MK2, Sony A7IV, ARRI ALEXA 35, RED Helium and RED Scarlet.
